Bonnyville RCMP looking for suspect after injured male needed help

At approximately 4:00 Monday morning, Bonnyville RCMP received a complaint of an injured male requesting assistance in the area of 50 Street and 51 Avenue. Members attended and the male was transported to hospital by EMS where he was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.

The Bonnyville General Investigation Section was called-in to assist. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim got into an altercation with another male at or near the intersection of 50th Street and 50 Avenue, which resulted in the victim’s injuries, police said.

It is believed that this was not a random assault and that the victim and the suspect are known to each other, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
