Alberta RCMP are warning residents to expect an increase in Outlaw Motorcycle Gang activity across the province as motorcycle season gets underway.
Police say Albertans may notice more gang-affiliated riders travelling on highways, stopping at gas stations and gathering during organized rides and weekend events throughout the summer months. RCMP also say the public can expect a larger police presence during these events.
According to RCMP, Satan’s Choice Motorcycle Club is currently expanding across Canada and throughout Alberta. Police say the expansion could lead to tensions or conflict with other established outlaw motorcycle gangs, including the Hells Angels.
RCMP are encouraging Albertans to avoid interactions with outlaw motorcycle gangs and steer clear of areas where gang activity is taking place.
Police say they continue to work closely with policing partners across the province to monitor gang activity and target criminal behaviour linked to these organizations.
Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to contact their local police service. Crimes in progress should be reported by calling 911.
Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers by:
