The family of Daniel Peter Kahpeepatow of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, SK is deeply saddened by the passing of their father, grandfather, brother & companion on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in Edmonton, AB at the age of 51 years. Daniel, better known as “Pete” or Punk to family was a jack of all trades. There was not a job or project he could not do, even if it was a challenge, he would always figure it out. He built his own house, with the help from friends, loved the outdoors and mostly his children and grandchildren. His daughters were the most important in his life. He would do anything for them. He did have a rough up-bringing but always overcame any obstacle thrown at him. He was always on the go; never slowing down even if he was sick. There will be a big void in our lives without him here but his memories and words will never be forgotten. He is and will be missed.

Pete is lovingly survived by his companion of 3 ½ years: Ashanti Mitsuing; five children: Daylan, Mary, Jaslene, Tinsley, Dayla; five grandchildren: Dayzen, Demitri, Zaycee, Zaydee, Danayah; brother: Clayton; sisters: Gloria, Sandi (Moise), Frances (Louie), Charlotte (Roland); as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

Pete is predeceasd by his mother: Mary Kahpeepatow in 1983; father: Daniel Unrau in 1989; brother: Leslie Kahpeepatow in 1976; paternal grandparents: Peter & Helena Unrau; maternal grandparents: Adolphus Peeweenese & Cecile George.
