Vermilion RCMP investigate fatal collision

A Mannville woman has died after a fatal collision earlier this week.

On Wednesday at approximately 3:20 p.m., Vermilion RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 16 at Range Road 70.

The preliminary investigation revealed a SUV was travelling north on Range Road 70 and was crossing Highway 16 when a collision occurred with a westbound car.

The adult driver and youth passenger of the SUV did not suffer any injuries. The 78-year-old female driver of the car from Mannville, was taken via EMS to an Edmonton hospital with serious life-threatening injuries where she passed away last night.

Vermilion RCMP along with a RCMP Collision analyst continue to investigate.

The name of the deceased will not be released.
