February 25, 1944  –  June 28, 2026

The family of Adeline Grandbois is deeply saddened to announce her peaceful passing in Cold Lake, Alberta, on June 28, 2026, at the age of 82 years.

Adeline will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, artist, and friend whose kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched the lives of so many.

Adeline was a gifted artisan whose passion for arts and crafts reflected her creativity, heritage, and love for life. Through every piece she created, she shared a part of herself with those around her. Her warmth, generosity, quiet strength, and gentle guidance will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Adeline is lovingly survived by her children, LeeAnne Jacob, Barry Jacob, Hugh (Bonita) Jacob, and Amber (Chris) Youngchief; her 13 cherished grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way; her brothers, Harvey (Sylvia) Youngchief and Norman (Diane) Youngchief; her longtime friend, Clement Grandbois; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Augustine and Josephine Youngchief; her sisters, Rose Youngchief and Sophie Gaffney; her brothers, Andrew, Alphonse, George, Sylvester and Henry Youngchief

Matthew Jacob, Mitchell Badger, Davis Jacob, Kobe McKnight, Devin McKnight, and Aaron Youngchief.

Obituary respectfully submitted with love and gratitude by Adeline’s family.

A two-day Wake will begin on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cold Lake First Nations Spiritual Centre, with the procession leaving Northern Lights in Bonnyville at 11:00 a.m. A Eulogy and Final Respects will be held on Saturday, July 4, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cold Lake First Nations Spiritual Centre, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church in Legoff. Adeline will be laid to rest at the Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery.
