With deep sadness and gratitude for a life well-lived, the family of Douglas Allan Olstad of Elk Point, Alberta announce his passing on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the age of 69 years.

Doug was a talented guitar player, and music was a constant source of happiness.  He enjoyed traveling and time on the golf course with Connie.  He was most happy spending time with his family.  He loved watching Derrick on the football field, or listening to Mya sing and play on his mom’s organ.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 43 years: Connie; children: Amy (Randy) Wygle, Cathy Olstad (Dale Youngchief); grandchildren: Derrick Wygle, Mya Youngchief, and a soon to be arriving granddaughter; sister: Donna (David) Drysdale; sisters-in-law: Joan Olstad, Sheila (Paul) Lewis; brother-in-law: Ralph (Donna) Westwong; aunt: Edna Kennedy.

Doug was predeceased by his parents: Allan & Violet Olstad; siblings: Sandra Olstad, Ken Olstad, Ron Olstad; mother- & father-in-law: Gertie & Dick Westwong.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
