On Sunday, September 13, 2026, Evelyn LaRocque of Elizabeth Métis Settlement passed away peacefully at the age of 75 years, with her family lovingly by her side.

Evelyn will be forever remembered by her children: James (Ivy) LaRocque, Nadine (Steven) Collins, Joanne (Colin) Badger, and Seanna LaRocque; and by her beloved grandchildren: Cheyenne, James Jr., Ashley, Arron, Evan (Christina), Chad (Taylor), Eric, Shyla (Don), Lucus (Ocean), Samuel (Laine), Sharna, Ceecee (James), Hope (Anthony), Bryan, Paige (Zac), Rande (Krissy), Owen, Mason (Larissa), and Pryce (Maggie). She also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren who brought her much joy throughout her life.

She is survived by her sister, Josephine Chung; many nieces and nephews; her godparents, Joanne and Cecil Desjarlais; and her dear friend, Val Lajimodiere.

For over 25 years, Evelyn LaRocque dedicated herself to Elizabeth School through Northland School Division, leaving a lasting mark through her kindness strength and love for her community. She touched the lives of many . She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, James LaRocque; her great great-granddaughter, Bryer Collins; her parents, Josephine and Duncan Gardner; her sister, Alice; her brother, Duncan and many cherished family and friends who are now welcoming her at the gates of Heaven.

Viewing, Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Elizabeth Settlement Community Hall with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
