Surrounded by his loved ones, Emile Joseph Blyan passed away at the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre on Sunday, September 21, 2026, at the age of 90.

Emile will be forever remembered and loved by his wife: Edna Blyan; children: Laurie (Donald) Collins, Russell Cardinal, Floyd Cardinal, Tina Lanceleve, Joie Cardinal; siblings: Joe (Evelyn) Blyan, Tommy (Irene) Littlespruce, Jean Blyan, Clarence John; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Emile was predeceased by his daughters: Marlene Cardinal, Rena Cardinal; sons: Glen Whitstone, Richard Blyan, Harlan Blyan; grandchildren: Lizzy Blyan, Tony Blyan, David Collins; parents: Louis and Sophie Blyan; brothers: Freddy, Henry, Ernest, Louis, Alex, George, Lawrence, Norman, Gilbert; sisters: Catherine, Irene, Louise.

A two-day Wake will begin on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Hall, with the procession leaving Northern Lights Funeral Chapel in Bonnyville at 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, followed by Interment at 1:00 p.m. at the Elizabeth Settlement Community Cemetery.
