After a long, well lived life, the family of Lloyd Gonie of Pierceland, Saskatchewan sadly announce the passing of their husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the age of 92 years.

Lloyd is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Barb Gonie; children: Daniel (Tracey) Gonie, Joseph Gonie, Angela (Dean) Gelowitz, Barton Gonie; six grandchildren: Bradley Gonie, Ashley Gonie (Enfield Osmond), Lyndon Gonie (Heidi Knudsen), Jennifer (Rob) Bremner, Jamie Gelowitz, Jillise (Graeme) Barclay; seven great grandchildren: Kianna, Kaelynn, Grayden, Jameson, Benett, Watson, Tessa; sisters: Rosa Gurski, Sal Hickie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Lloyd is reuniting with his parents, William & Rosa Gonie; siblings: Mary Jelinek, Eva Rolheiser, Bert Hewlett, Kay Tremblay, Bill Gonie Jr., Tony Gonie, John Gonie, Henry Gonie.

In honour of Lloyd’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., St. Antoninus Roman Catholic Church, Pierceland, Saskatchewan with Father Dong Doan as Celebrant. Graveside Service, Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., St. Antoninus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pierceland, Saskatchewan. Urnbearer, Joe Gonie. The family invites everyone to a luncheon immediately following the graveside service, October 8, 2026, at the Pierceland Community Hall.
