Renegades + Bandits celebrate the season

The Bonnyville Peewee Renegades and Bantam Bandits football clubs celebrated their season on Saturday. The bond of the football family was strong in the room, as players, volunteers, and coaches were honoured for their achievements on and off the field.

Renegades

The Renegades were in a “rebuilding year”, says Coach Jason Morgan, “I am proud of what you all accomplished.” The coach spoke of the growth he saw in the team and the players as individuals.

Bandits

The Bantam Bandits had a season of ups. The team went undefeated in the regular season, and onto the second round of the playoffs were an intense game against rivals, the St. Paul Bengals, knocked them out of the playoffs. Coach Mickey Fagnan says he was amazed at the character the players displayed throughout the year, “we spoke a lot about spartans and navy seals throughout the year. Each of the young men and women on the team displayed character and class; even in the toughest times.”

Both teams will take a break during the off-season to prepare for the Spring Jamboree once the snow clears.
