Two Collisions on HWY 28 near Bonnyville Golf Course in 24 Hrs
The Bonnyville RCMP Detachment is reporting that there has been two collisions on Highway 28, just west of Bonnyville, near the golf course, in the last 24 hours. The first of the two came yesterday in the mid-afternoon and involved two vehicles. One was charged in that accident. The second collision was a lone vehicle, early this morning, around 7:00am.
On January 6th, 2016 at approximately 3:30 PM, the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment received a 911 call for service for a two vehicle collision on Hwy 28 near the golf course. A Dodge Journey driven by a 37 year old male resident of Calgary was traveling east on Township 610 prior to turning northbound onto Hwy 28. Moments after turning onto Hwy 28, the Dodge was struck from behind by a Honda Odyssey containing a 52 year old female driver from Glendon, AB who had been traveling into town.
It was determined that the male driver of the Dodge Journey failed to proceed safely after stopping prior to turning onto Hwy 28 and he was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.  Both drivers sustained minor non-life threatening injuries.

On January 7th, 2016 just before 7:00 AM, the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment received a 911 complaint of a driver that lost control on Hwy 28 near the golf course. The driver, a 28 year old female resident of Glendon, AB, was traveling north bound on Hwy 28 when she hit a patch of ice and slid across the road into the west ditch. The female was the lone occupant and did not sustain any injuries.
