Fresh Pavement Layed on Road Leading to Kinosoo Ridge

The Municipal District of Bonnyville has prepared the road leading up to Kinosoo Ridge for the winter ahead. Travelers will enjoy a smooth trip to the ski resort which is scheduled to open in late November-early December, says Reeve for the MD, Ed Rondeau, “traditionally we open a few weeks before Christmas.”

Like many things in Alberta, it’s really weather dependent, says the Reeve, “if it’s cold enough we can make snow, if not we gotta wait till the temperature drops.” As for the road leading out the resorts, it’s being done in sections, “we slated it in sections and we’ll be doing more in the following years. This year we did from the Saskatchewan border back towards us.”

The MD also upgraded the parking lot during the summer to make room for the increase in traffic since the resort expanded. The resort expanded its Chalet and runs, in 2012 and added a tube run with four lanes, a skate pond, and a fire pit area in 2014. Opening day is tentatively booked for November 28th for tubing and December 5th for all other services.
