Stepping Stones Crisis Society is thanking long-time Board member Emily Allsop for nearly a decade of volunteer leadership while inviting community members to apply for a position on its Board of Directors.
After nine years of service, Allsop is concluding her term on the Board, where she helped guide the organization’s growth and governance through several significant milestones. During her time with Stepping Stones, she played an important role in supporting the expansion of programs and the opening of the organization’s new shelter facility.
The Society says her leadership and commitment have helped strengthen support for women and children experiencing family violence throughout the region.
“Emily has been so important to the work that we do at Stepping Stones, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed over the last nine years,” said Chief Executive Officer Kim Reed.
“Strong volunteer leadership is essential to the work we do, and we’re fortunate to have Board members who are passionate about supporting our mission. As we look ahead, we’re excited to welcome new voices and perspectives to help guide the future of Stepping Stones and continue building a stronger community together.”
With Allsop’s departure, Stepping Stones is now accepting applications from individuals interested in joining its volunteer Board of Directors.
Board members help oversee the organization’s long-term direction while serving as ambassadors in the community. Responsibilities include attending events, supporting fundraising efforts, building community relationships and contributing professional expertise and lived experience to strengthen the Society’s work.
Stepping Stones encourages applications from individuals with backgrounds in finance, law, human resources, communications, community leadership or other relevant fields.
Anyone interested in serving on the Board can find more information and apply through the Stepping Stones Crisis Society website. Paper applications are also available upon request.
