ACCREDITATION OFFICER

The Wah Pow Healing and Wellness Society (WPHWS), located on Beaver Lake Cree Nation, Treaty 6 Territory, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accreditation Officer to lead and support the organization’s accreditation journey. This role will serve as the primary champion for ensuring that holistic healing practices align with recognized global health standards.

WPHWS is a federally incorporated non-profit organization overseeing the Wah Pow Healing Lodge, which has provided NNADAP-funded residential treatment services since 1984. The organization is dedicated to holistic healing by integrating Indigenous healing practices with Western addiction treatment approaches.

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Location: Beaver Lake Cree Nation (Lac La Biche, AB)
  • Term: 12–18 months (Accreditation Cycle)
  • Reporting To: Executive Director

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Health Administration, Social Work, or a related field
  • Documented experience with Accreditation Canada or Health Standards Organization (HSO) processes
  • Willingness to undergo Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and addictions-free
  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of WPHWS
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage the accreditation journey and 12–18 month Primer Program

  • Align organizational operations with HSO evidence-informed standards
  • Oversee the OnboardQi platform and Client Portal for assessments and resource management
  • Develop and monitor the Quality Improvement Action Plan (QIAP)
  • Coordinate and complete internal self-assessments within the first four months
  • Organize and maintain evidence of compliance for treatment modules
  • Provide staff training on tracer methodology and quality protocols
  • Facilitate on-site survey visits and accreditation processes
  • Prepare and present quarterly progress reports to the Board of Directors

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as required
  • Combination of virtual work and site visits to Wah Pow Healing Lodge

CONDITIONS OF ENGAGEMENT:

  • Must comply with organizational policies and accreditation standards
  • Successful completion of required background checks is mandatory

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Cover Letter outlining relevant experience with quality improvement and accreditation
  • Current Resume including three (3) professional references
  • Copies of relevant certifications or credentials (e.g., Accreditation Coordinator Certificate)
  • Completed Application Form

Final Notification: Successful candidate will be notified by June 8, 2026
