Northern Lights Public Schools has announced the appointment of Jimmi Lou Irvine as its new Superintendent, effective August 1, 2026.

Irvine brings 26 years of experience within the division and is being described as a lifelong NLPS success story. She began her career in 2000 as an Edwin Parr-nominated teacher at Bonnyville Centralized High School before moving into leadership roles throughout the region.

Over the years, Irvine has served as Principal at both Glendon School and Iron River School and most recently held the position of Deputy Superintendent.

In a statement shared by the Board of Trustees, NLPS said Irvine’s leadership will focus on strengthening leadership teams and listening to students, families, staff and school communities as the division prepares for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Board says it is looking forward to the next chapter under Irvine’s leadership as she steps into the role this summer.
