In the early hours of Saturday, April 18, 2026, Bruce Darrell Blackman of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 59 years. He leaves behind a circle of family and friends who will carry his memory with deep love and respect.
Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his son Garrett (Roxanna) Blackman; his grandchildren Gage Scanie, Alaira Scanie, Alex Janvier, and Kingsley Scanie; his brothers Adelard Blackman and Kenneth Blackman; his sister Freda Deacon; his nieces and nephews; Sheila, Ben, Amy, Lance, Kennedy, Luke, Johnathan, Keith, Cassandra and Ryan as well as numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
Bruce enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working in the yard and planting trees. He found comfort and purpose in tending the land, and those who knew him will remember the quiet pride he took in watching things grow.
He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Bernadette Blackman, and nephew Jeff Blackman.
Bruce’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him, shared stories with him, and loved him throughout his life.
