Lance Joshua Soloway passed away on April 21, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Lance was a dedicated journeyman carpenter who put himself through trade school while raising his son as a single father. His strong work ethic and determination were evident in everything he did—he worked tirelessly to provide for his family, even continuing to show up for work through illness before his diagnosis. He took great pride in his craft and in the life he built for his son.

Outside of work, Lance devoted his time to being an active and present father. He cherished every moment spent with his son, whether staying active together or simply enjoying each other’s company. He had a love for movies, music, and fitness, and took pride in maintaining his health and appearance. Known for his warm smile and kind nature, Lance had a way of making those around him feel welcome and cared for.

Lance’s strength, resilience, and unwavering love for his family will be held in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Lance was predeceased by his father: Gary Desjarlais; paternal grandfather: Henry Desjarlais; maternal grandmother; Doris Soloway; paternal great grandparents: Joe and Agnes Collins; maternal great-grandparents: Edward and Agnes Soloway; aunt: Monique Soloway; cousin: Chelsea McCarthy.
