St. Paul RCMP nab three following search warrant

A search warrant in St. Paul led to the arrests of three people, as the RCMP seized items from a property for the second time in just a few months.

On Wednesday, May 28, police mobilized with a warrant following a lead of stolen property, taking them a location they previously searched in February.

RCMP members seized an unregistered firearm, multiple knives, a number of prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia. 

Based on additional findings, RCMP said, one male was arrested. Two more at the residence were wanted on outstanding warrants as well, and were taken for judicial release hearings. 

Lawrence Joseph Desjarlais, 46, of St. Paul, was charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – schedule 1: other
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Resists/obstructs peace officer

Desjarlais was released on conditions following his hearing, and is set to appear at the St. Paul Court of Justice on June 19, 2025.

Samara Maria Jackson, 22, of Saddle Lake, was arrested on outstanding warrants and additionally charged with:

  • Identity fraud
  • Resists/obstructs peace officer

Jackson was issued a cash bail release order following her hearing, and is set to appear at the St. Paul Court of Justice on June 5, 2025.

Martin Spiegelberg, 55, of Fort McMurray, was arrested on outstanding warrants, and is not facing any additional charges. He was remanded into custody following his hearing.
