Suspended driver, stolen minivan, meth: Bonnyville RCMP report Nov. 1-8

Meth spotted during roadside check
Bonnyville RCMP were alerted to a possibly suspended driver at around 2:30PM on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
The suspect truck and trailer was spotted by police following the complaint, which launched a roadside check.
The driver’s identity was confirmed, and Dean Gamache was found to be in fact suspended from driving.
Police say they saw crystal meth in plain view, and further arrested him for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The VIN of the truck had been altered also.
Gamache, 34, of Bonnvyille, is charged with Drive while Prohibited, Possession of Stolen Property, Altering a VIN, Failing to Comply with a Probation Order and Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Gamache was remanded in custody and is set to appear in Court on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Sleepy driver on nation-wide driving ban
Major fines and sanctions have been laid after Bonnyville RCMP were alerted to a vehicle running, but stopped, in the middle of the road.
Police got a report from a concerned citizen in Kehewin on Sunday, Nov. 3 at around 9:00AM. The report was for a vehicle parked in the middle of the road and running.
Three occupants were found sleeping in the vehicle.
Police discovered that the driver was on a Canada wide Driving Prohibition and was also intoxicated.
Jeshaiah John, 23 year old, of Wetaskiwin, has been charged with numerous Criminal Code offences, including having Care or Control of a Vehicle while Impaired, Refusing to Comply with a Breath Demand, Drive while Prohibited, and Resisting Arrest.
He was additionally issued a ticket for having an Uninsured Motor Vehicle on the Highway, which carries a minimum fine of $2875 if convicted.
John’s first appearance for his Criminal matters is Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Stolen minivan
A minivan stolen from St. Paul was later discovered in Bonnyville leading to charges.
The incident happened at around 11:00AM on Tuesday. About four hours later, police located the van as it was pulling away from a residence.
The Cold Lake GIS Unit and the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit were in the area and assisted Bonnyville RCMP.
The van was followed to a local restaurant on 50th Ave where it parked.
Two female occupants exited the van and were immediately arrested by members, who had converged on the scene at the same time.
Ariel Knight, 30 year old, of Cold Lake, is charged with Possession of the Stolen Van and Resisting Arrest.
She was released from custody by a Justice of the Peace and is set to appear in Court on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The passenger was released from custody without charges.
