The U15 AA Panthers ended their last regular season game with a 6-2 victory against the MLAC Traxx.

In the final game, Kyle Welsh put up three points for his team, including two goals, one which was unassisted and shorthanded, plus an assist.

One Panther finished off a 53-point regular season with 37 goals and 16 assists, Korbin Olheiser.

Coming up this weekend, is the playoff series where the Panthers will match up against teams from their division in a round-robin style tournament and hope to advance on to the division series matchup.

“The team set out a goal before the year to finish in the top three of the division which I think was a realistic goal. And now we are set to go to Lloydminster for a playoff tournament within our division,” said Head Coach, Chad Mercier.

“They’re kids who have a lot of resolve and perseverance throughout them. For the vast majority, it is the first time they have played at a AA level. Early on in the season there was a big learning curve and this group of kids came together and built trust among themselves.”

The Panthers will take on Lloydminster on Thursday at 3:30pm, then the Sturgeon Sting on Friday at 2:45pm. On Saturday, the Panthers will face Beaumont.

The U18 AA Panthers have two more regular season games left and U13 AA Panthers played their last regular season game on Feb. 6 resulting in a 4-4 tie.

In the standings, the U18s are in 5th place in their division going 12-14-4, and the U13s are in 6th place going 10-15-6.
