Cold Lake Ice give Wainwright Bisons everything they can handle
The Ice came back from multiple goal deficits against one of the best in the NEAJBHL last Saturday, but it was not enough.
Despite facing deficits of up to five goals on Saturday, the Cold Lake Ice remain on a losing streak after falling short 8-7 to the Bisons.
“We didn’t play our best,” said Scott Hood, the head coach of Cold Lake Ice, who commended his team on battling back.
“We will go back to the drawing board and start fresh next week,” he concluded.
Cold Lake began the first with no goals as the Bisons wasted no time and got to work gaining a 4-0 lead.
But, Cold Lake threw a total of six goals up in the second and third, including five unanswered, giving fans hope when they tied the game up at 6-6.
Wainwright pulled back together, securing another two goals in the third in a minute. Cold Lake’s Ty Harper #15 responded with only three minutes of play left, but Cold Lake was unable to secure the win and lost on home ice.
The Ice offence saw seven different goal scorers pot markers, including Bret McLeod, Kaleb Brunet, Damon Pockrant, Ty Harper, Zephrin Hachey, Maeson Stabbler, and Carter Breen.
Cold Lake Ice stands sixth in their league now at 3-9.
The St. Paul Canadiens and Cold Lake Ice are set to play each other on Nov. 18, where fans will see another battle of the Lakeland.
