The  U15 AA  Braves were in Sherwood park for the final weekend before final tiering. The hopes were to play well again and be moved up for some more competitive games for August. And the Braves did not disappoint.
The boys came out flying playing one of the stronger teams in their grouping the Sherwood Park Gold. Josh Bourbeau “Bourbs” started on the mound  and took a bit to find his rhythm, but once he did he pitched a very good game. Ryker Neumier came in from the bullpen to close the game and pitched a couple strong innings to help shut down the A’s. Foster Pikowicz continued to hit the ball well with a couple base hits. The Braves ended up winning 14-6.

They played Grand Prairie next with the big unit Carter Goreniuk “Gronk” pitching. He pitched another great game, setting the team up for another win. Brady Cooper came in to eat up some innings and has been improving all year with his  pitching giving the Braves more arms. Shawn Vallee “SV” came into close it out and did an excellent job shutting them down. Kalem Straughan had a hit and RBI helping the Braves mercy the Reds  15-4 in  5 innings for the win.

The final game Sunday was against SWEBA Sox. Ryley Feland started the game and had the hitters guessing all day with a good mix of fastball, curves and changeups. Foster Pickowz came in for relief and chucked two strong innings. Ben Cale made a couple nice catches and just missed another diving catch in the field. Shawn Vallee who was catching the game had a great day at the dish hitting a beauty triple to the right field fence. A little closer game but the Braves were in control from start to finish. They ended up winning 11-5.

With another 3-0 weekend the Braves have now reached their goal. They have been moved up to Tier 2 which will create some good competition for the month of August.
