The Vermilion RCMP is encouraging local community members to write emails and letters to voice their comments and concerns about policing.
This opportunity will replace the Town Hall Meetings which would have regularly been held in local community halls. Due to the current state of the pandemic and public gatherings not being an option, Acting Detachment Commander, Cpl Mike Dunsmore, is hoping people will reach out over the next two weeks.
“Thank you to everyone who participates and shares their input and insights in this consultation process as you are all valuable members of our communities,” says Cpl. Dunsmore.
From Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 – Wednesday, Feb 17, 2021, Cpl. Dunsmore will be accepting input about policing issues through either regular post mail or email from urban or rural community members in or around Vermilion, Clandonald, Derwent, Mannville, Minburn, and Innisfree.
You can mail NCO I/C RCMP, Attention: Vermilion RCMP, 5115 50 Avenue, Vermilion, AB T9X1A9 or email: RCMP.KVermilionDetachment-KDetachmentdeVermilion.GRC@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
After February 17, Cpl. Dunsmore will be reviewing all of the correspondence received. In early March, he will then respond to the top 10 issues and concerns as presented, publishing responses in the communities noted above through their web pages and mail outs.
