Vermilion Chamber hosting stationary Xmas parade
Bringing festive cheer to the community, the Vermilion & District Chamber of Commerce (VDCC) will be hosting a Stationary Christmas Parade on Friday, November 27.
Floats will line up on the south side of Railway Avenue, and residents are being asked to drive by from west to east to view them.
Chamber office manager, Leanne Martin, said the first 150 vehicles will receive a candy bag.
“The Stationary Christmas Parade is a night for bringing a little joy to families and is a great way for them to kick-off the holiday season,” said Martin.
This year’s parade theme is, ‘Joy.’
At the parade, people will be able to pick up colouring pages for a Colouring Contest sponsored by both the VDCC and the Town of Vermilion.
A boys prize pack and a girls prize pack will be up for grabs in the contest, and any child can enter.
For people looking to get creative while they are at home, printable colouring pages can also be found online at https://vermilionalbertachamber.com/ and all entries must be submitted to the chamber office before 4pm on December 14.
Next week, a Chamber Tree Display will be decorating Main Street business sidewalks, and all together these activities are meant to stir up holiday spirit.
“We wanted to bring a little joy to everyone’s lives and provide something fun for the children to do,” said Martin.
