Man arrested in death of two north of Glendon; charged with two counts of second-degree murder

RCMP Major Crimes Unit have arrested and charged an adult male with two counts of second degree murder in relation to the death of two males north of Glendon on Saturday.

Jake Sansom, 39, and Maurice Cardinal, 57, were discovered on the road near a black pickup truck early Saturday morning near Township Road 622 and Range Road 84 north of Glendon with gunshot wounds.

The victims names have been published by major news outlets.

Police called the deaths suspicious have now been deemed homicides.

Following the autopsy on Tuesday, police arrested the male, whose name is not known at this time because the information is not yet sworn.

More information will be provided tomorrow by the RCMP.

News outlets have reported the two men were hunting to feed their families, following Samson’s job loss.

The pair were believed to spend Friday fishing and hunting for moose near Seibert Lake.
