Cold Lake RCMP arrest man on warrants for numerous dangerous driving offences
Colton Pelechosky of Cold Lake has been arrested following a foot pursuit with police.
On December 4, 2019 at approximately 9:30 p.m., a Cold Lake RCMP officer was patrolling and came across a suspicious male on 47th Street and 69th Avenue in Cold Lake. The officer approached the male and questioned him. At this time the officer recognized the male as he was wanted on warrants out of Cold Lake and Edmonton.
The officer attempted to arrest Colton Pelechosky (24) of Cold Lake, when he resisted and fled on foot. The officer then contacted RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) to assist in apprehension. Officers tracked Pelechosky for approximately 4 kilometers when PDS located him hiding under a fallen tree where he was then placed under arrest without incident.
Pelechosky was arrested on 14 charges, some of which include:
- Obstruct police officer
- Resist police officer x 2
- Breach of Recognizance x 5
- Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
- Driver fail to stop for Police Officer
- Operate motor vehicle without registration
- Operate uninsured motor vehicle on highway
Pelechosky was remanded into custody and is to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on December 11, 2019. As this matter is before the courts, no further updates will be provided.
