Bonnyville woman charged with assault of a police officer, resisting arrest

A 32-year-old Bonnyville woman is facing charges after resisting arrest earlier in the week.

RCMP were dispatched Sunday morning after a complaint that a woman was running into traffic, screaming and urinating on the sidewalk.

The woman was later found to be intoxicated.

She was arrested for mischief, but during the arrest, she resisted the police officer.

Sgt. Kim Hillier said she intentionally scratched the officer and headbutted them.

She was held for a Judicial Interim Release hearing and released for a future court appearance.

Sabrina-Lynn Runions was charged with resisting arrest, mischief, and assault of a police officer.
