Cold Lake RCMP Looking for Second Suspect in Home Invasion

Cold Lake RCMP are still looking for the second suspect in a home invasion from early Wednesday morning where two victims suffered minor injuries.

At roughly 2 a.m., two males forced their way into a residence in Cold Lake north where a confrontation occurred with two adult men inside.

The two suspects fled on foot, but police located and arrested 28 year old Joel Thompson from Sherwood Park shortly after.

Two firearms were seized in relation to this offence. The investigation determined this was not a random act.

Thompson has been charged with 11 offenses including two counts of assault, break and enter, and robbery with a firearm.

He was released with conditions after a judicial hearing and will be appearing in Cold Lake Provincial Court on Nov. 14, 2018.

Cold Lake RCMP continue to investigate this incident and are seeking information on the second suspect involved in this offence.
