Senior partner, Leighton Grey has announced the addition of Hart Spencer in the new partnership of Grey Wowk Spencer LLP, effective August 1, 2018. Grey states that the law firm is pleased to announce the addition and are excited to offer their clients exceptional legal services.

Hart is not new to the firm, explained Grey, “Hart joined us in 2010 as an Articling Student, following completion of his law degree at the University of Saskatchewan. I had the honour of serving as his Principal during his Articles of Clerkship, and immediately recognized his great potential.”

Grey stated that, “he has since become one of the most respected young lawyers in North Eastern Alberta, particularly as Criminal Defence Counsel.” In that capacity, Hart has conducted homicide and other serious cases before the Court of Appeal, the Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Provincial Courts of Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Grey explained one case in particular that may help shape future legal decisions. “He recently argued a successful entrapment Defence in a drug case in what may become an important legal precedent.”

In addition to Criminal Law, Hart also represents clients in family Law cases and appears regularly as counsel for the Director of Children’s Services in child welfare matters.

Originally from Oxbow, SK, Hart and his family reside on the golf course in Goodsoil, SK. His wife, Jenna, also graduated from the U of S and teaches school in Goodsoil.
