Charges pending after man blows 3.5 times the legal limit

At approximately 3:40 am, on October 14th, a Cold Lake RCMP member was on routine patrol and observed a vehicle in the 7-11 parking lot.  Three people, who appeared to be intoxicated exit the vehicle. The officer spoke to the driver, who was highly intoxicated, at this point, the driver turned the vehicle on.

A 21 year old male from Big Island Lake Cree Territory, was arrested for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle. There was also open alcohol found in the vehicle. The accused provided breath samples 3.5 times the legal limit.The vehicle was seized as part of the impaired investigation.

Charges of impaired care & control of a motor vehicle and impaired care & control of a vehicle with blood alcohol levels over 0.08 are pending. The male was released for a court date on December 14th at 10:00 am in Cold Lake.
