“It’s been a great season so far. We’ve had two big wins by a big margin, and one really close game. We’ve been able to keep up our pace, and we haven’t slowed down.” Wide Receiver Tyler Verrier said post game.
Voyageurs handed another loss
The Bonnyville Voyageurs had a good first half in their game against the Holy Rosary Raiders. The game was tied 14-14 at half-time. Things seemed to stall for the Voyageurs in the second half as Holy Rosary managed to put up another 14 points. The Voyageurs got a field goal, but had a chance for another one, but decided to go for the touchdown late. Injuries are piling up in the Voyageurs camp.
“It wasn’t a must win game, but we would have liked to win it for playoff positioning. Up until half-time things were looking good… Didn’t necessarily fall apart, but we had some good offensive drive, but just didn’t manage to score. We probably could have ended with a field goal, but we wanted seven.” Head Coach Larry Godziuk says.
The Voyageurs will be on the road against Lloydminster Comp this weekend.
PeeWees have tough go on the road
The PeeWee Renegades had a tough defensive battle against the Lloydminster Colts. The game was 12-8 at the half, but the Renegades wore down, and ultimately lost 20-12.
“We’re gonna clean up the defensive contain. Also, we’re gonna work a new running back into the mix.” Coach Joshua Jubinville says.
The PeeWees will be in Lloydminster to face the Steelers next Monday. The thanksgiving special will be a 3 p.m. start.
