Lakeland Credit Union Gives Back to Area Food Banks

Local Workers Donate over $6,000 to the Food Bank

Bonnyville and Cold Lake Lakeland Credit Union employees were pleased to donate ,364.01 to the Bonnyville Food Bank and ,739.10 to the Cold Lake Food Bank Society. The employees made the donation through their company-wide Care Wear program, which grants them the privilege of wearing jeans to work in exchange for a weekly donation to charity.  Both non-profit organizations expressed their gratitude for the donations. “Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. You (LCU) are very much appreciated!” said Pauline Mawer, Assistant Executive Director at the Bonnyville Friendship Centre.

“Lakeland Credit Union proudly supports this staff-driven initiative as it directly benefits all those in need within our community. We have been choosing local non -profit initiatives for a decade now and staff really value the opportunity to participate in charitable giving while at work.” said Amber Hughes, Vice President of Marketing and Human Resources for Lakeland Credit Union.

Since its inception in 2006, the Lakeland Credit Union Care Wear program has donated almost $80,000 to local charities.
