On June 4, Dekada Premier Fight Night brings the sweet science of boxing to Cold Lake, Alberta with a packed card that features a rematch for the Canadian Cruiserweight championship between Fort Kent’s Rob “Raging Bull” Nichols and Frank “the Hammer” White, the return of action heroes Brian Samuel and Gary Kopas from their latest knockout victories, and a look at Edmonton boxer Sheena Kaine as she returns to the ring after two years away from boxing.

“With Dekada, we are bringing local fighters that Albertans can get behind and cheer for as they work towards a shot at a regional, national or even world title shot,” says promoter Michael Short. “Rob Nichols versus Frank White 1 was a classic slugfest that had fans jumping out of their seats. With this rematch, we get to see if Rob can use his experience to try and knock Frank out, or if Frank will be able to line up Rob for a power shot that will get him a victory this time.  We get to watch Brian and Gary follow up after stopping their opponents on the last Dekada card. And we are giving fans a look at Sheena Kaine, a boxer and mother with a compelling story of success against overwhelming odds. On June 4, Dekada Premier Fight Night will be another thrilling event that people will talk about for a long time. “

Gary Kopas will face Maskwacis-based Taylor Bull, who knocked out a rising prospect in his last appearance in Alberta, in an eight-round fight with the Western Canadian Cruiserweight Title on the line. Calgary welterweight Brian Samuel is taking on Savannah, Georgia-based super welterweight Stephen Bass, who is embarking on his third fight as a professional boxer after amassing a 10-1 record in the UFC.  Also on the card, Cold Lake’s own MMA star Tim Chemelli will face Grayson Wells from Kelowna in the heavyweight division. Edmonton-based lightweight prospect Sheena Kaine will also return to the ring against Winnipeg’s Christina Barry.

Dekada Premier Fight Night kicks off at 7:30 pm on Saturday, June 4 at the Cold Lake Energy Centre at 7825-51 Street in Cold Lake, Alberta.

A press conference will also be held at the fighter weigh-in on Friday, June 3 at the Cold Lake Energy Centre.

Premier Fight Night will also be broadcast on the Fight Network.
