Charges Pending from Roadside Assualt outside Cold Lake

The Cold Lake RCMP have charges pending on a man, from the Elizabeth Metis Settlement, after the RCMP responded to a roadside assault south of the city. On April 8th, at 7:00am, a 911 call came in from a male who was driving into the city and his vehicle broke down. The male was approached by, who he believed to be, a Good Samaritan, who offered to help.

After offering to help, the male assault the driver by reaching into the vehicle. The victim was able to get out of the vehicle and fought off the attacker. There were no major injuries, however the attacker had fled the scene before RCMP were called.

The males were known to each other, and the alleged attacker is known to the police. Charges are pending on the suspected attacker.
