On January 1st, 2016 at 12:05 AM, the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment received it’s first complaint in 2016 of Impaired Driving from Cold Lake RCMP Detachment requesting assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run.  A Bonnyville RCMP Constable located the suspect vehicle within the town of Bonnyville and conducted a traffic stop on 39th Street.

The driver, a 32 year old male resident of Bonnyville, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for Impaired Driving and transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where he provided samples of his breath of almost twice the legal limit.

The male was released on court compelling documents to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court for Impaired Driving charges on January 26th, 2016 and to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court in February 2016 for a provincial charge of Failing to Remain at an Accident Scene under the Traffic Safety Act.
