Maggie Savary, who was born on August 3, 1935, passed away on September 6, 2026, in Bonnyville, Alberta, surrounded by the daughter Priya, sister Dolly and niece Koomershree. Maggie lived a life that touched many hearts.

She will be remembered with deep affection by her daughter, Priya St. Thomas of Bonnyville, and by her Canadian families, Vic and Muriel Sadlowski; Cindy and Peter Tercier of Bonnyville. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Joe Nadioo of Edmonton, Dolly Naidoo of Edmonton, Dr. Bala Naidoo of South Africa, Devi Padayachee of South Africa, Pushpa Chendria of Edmonton, and Naddy Nadioo of New Zealand, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many dear friends. Her family was central to her life, and she carried each relationship with warmth, loyalty, and quiet devotion.

Maggie lived a life defined by kindness, patience, and grace. She was known as a loving, thoughtful, and generous woman whose presence brought comfort and encouragement to those around her. She had a gentle spirit and a sincere interest in others, and she made people feel valued simply by being herself. Her life reflected the best of traditional values, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will continue to be felt by all who knew her.

A devoted Teacher, School Counsellor and Registered Social Worker, Maggie was loved by all her students, parents and her clients. She approached her work with dedication and care, and she believed deeply in the importance of education and guidance. Her students remembered her not only for what she taught, but for the kindness, patience, and respect she showed each day. She inspired confidence in those she taught and made a lasting difference in many lives through her steady encouragement and example. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, and her former students will long remember the warmth and wisdom she shared. Her beliefs were an important part of who she was, and they helped guide her through life with dignity, humility, and strength. She carried herself with a quiet sense of purpose and a deep respect for family, tradition, and community. Those who knew her will remember the calm and reassuring presence she brought into every room, as well as the sincerity with which she lived her life. She will be remembered for the many small and meaningful ways she showed love to others. Whether through a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or a generous act,  Maggie had a way of making people feel cared for and appreciated. Her generosity was not limited to material things, but was also seen in the time, attention, and compassion she freely gave. She was the kind of person who listened with her heart and offered support without hesitation. Her life was a gift to her family, her students, her friends, and her community, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched with her loving, thoughtful, and generous spirit.

Maggie was predeceased by her husband Gabe Savary; son Kenny Savary, son-in-law Ian Walker, parents Bikom & Nasimaaloo (Joe) Naidoo, siblings Brother d Kersey Naidoo, Sister Biddi (Shunny Moodley), brother-in-laws Satchee Naidoo Roy Chendria.

Funeral service, Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., at the Bonnyville Seniors Drop In Centre, Pioneer Hall.
