COLD LAKE — Kinosoo Beach was serving up more than lake views as Feast at the Beach returned to Cold Lake with food trucks, live music and family entertainment.
The annual festival, organized by the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, brought food vendors from across Alberta to the waterfront, along with a free Kidz Zone and a full lineup of live entertainment.
This year’s stage featured Cory Marks, the Derina Harvey Band, Alex Hughes, Tony Stevens, Berlyn and Quinton Blair, with Casey Clarke hosting the event.
Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul MLA Scott Cyr was among those who stopped by the festival, spending a couple of hours at Kinosoo Beach with his youngest daughter, Charlotte.
The pair took very different approaches to lunch. Charlotte opted for a Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup from Choco Strawberry Euphoria, while Cyr went savoury with a bratwurst topped with sauerkraut, special mustard and dill sauce from The Dog.
“We definitely went in two very different directions, but I think we were both pretty happy with our choices,” Cyr said.
From Chamber idea to signature Cold Lake event
Feast at the Beach began as a Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce initiative to create a family-friendly food and music festival along the shores of Cold Lake.
It has since grown into one of the community’s signature summer events, bringing residents and visitors to Kinosoo Beach while boosting vendors and surrounding businesses.
Cyr credited Chamber Chair Spencer Ferguson, Executive Director Sherri Buckle, the Chamber board and staff, sponsors, Feast Ambassadors and volunteers for the work behind the festival.
Cold Lake Coun. Raymond Cowell also volunteered at the event.
Province provides $75,000 for 2026 festival
The Government of Alberta provided $75,000 in funding for Feast at the Beach in 2026, supporting the Chamber in delivering the festival.
Cyr said the investment recognizes the role community events can play in attracting visitors and generating local economic activity.
“This investment helps the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce deliver an event that attracts visitors, contributes to local economic activity and provides another opportunity to showcase our region,” Cyr said.
He also thanked Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women Tanya Fir for supporting the festival.
For Cyr, however, the visit had a considerably simpler highlight: lunch with his daughter.
“Good food, great music, a beautiful lake and some father-daughter time made for a pretty great visit to Feast at the Beach,” he said.
