A routine traffic stop in Goodfish Lake has resulted in four people facing drug trafficking charges after RCMP say officers uncovered evidence of suspected drug trafficking during the investigation.

“The successful seizure of suspected illicit drugs demonstrates our commitment to disrupting drug trafficking and enhancing public safety in our communities,” said Staff Sgt. David Graham, detachment commander of the St. Paul RCMP. “We thank the public for their continued support and encourage anyone with information about drug-related activity to contact their local RCMP or Crime Stoppers.”

The investigation began on July 23 when Goodfish Lake RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Main Road. During the stop, officers determined the driver was impaired.

While investigating, RCMP received additional information linking the vehicle, driver and passengers to suspected drug trafficking activity. All four occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Police later obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. During the search, officers seized quantities of suspected controlled substances, drug trafficking paraphernalia and other evidence believed to be connected to drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have each been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking:

• Janelle Favel, 36, of Goodfish Lake.
• Dalton Sam Houle, 26, of Edmonton.
• Brooke Hunter, 19, of Saddle Lake.
• Dominic Jackson, 38, of St. Paul.

The charges have not been proven in court.
