ROADS – CASUAL SEASONAL
Do you want to make a difference in the Town of Bonnyville? The Town of Bonnyville is seeking motivated individuals who enjoy working outdoors, thrive in a team environment, and are ready to help maintain and improve municipal infrastructure.
Under the direction of the Public Works Supervisors, the successful candidate will perform manual labour duties supporting transportation, utilities, and general Public Works operations.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License with an acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform physically demanding manual labour tasks
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong teamwork skills and commitment to workplace safety
- Successful completion of pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform manual labour duties related to transportation and utility operations
- Assist with roadway, sidewalk, street sign, and catch basin repairs and maintenance
- Support line painting operations as required
- Assist with maintenance of water and sewer lines, hydrants, and valves
- Conduct solid waste collection and support general Public Works operations
- Perform minor equipment maintenance such as fueling, greasing, and washing
- Assist with Town programs, community events, tourism activities, and residential clean-up initiatives
- Work collaboratively with the Public Works crew while following all safety procedures
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Physically demanding role involving lifting, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing stairs or ladders
- Ability to lift weights exceeding 10 kg up to approximately 20 kg
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Successful completion of pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing is required
- Must comply with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and Town policies
