Residents around Moose Lake are being reminded to stay alert after a brown bear with cubs was reportedly spotted this week in farmland east of the Juniper subdivision.

Anyone using trails near Moose Lake or other wooded areas is asked to be cautious and aware of their surroundings.

Residents can help keep the community informed by sharing bear sightings, including the time and area, on the community page.

To help prevent unwanted encounters, residents are also reminded to reduce outdoor waste, secure garbage and keep barbecues clean and stored inside sheds or garages when possible.

Drivers are also asked to use caution, as loose moose have been reported near Spruce.
