Bonnyville Pontiacs’ Pendy and Harrison Named Finalists for AJHL League Awards

Two Bonnyville Pontiacs are being recognized among the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s best this season.
Forward Maxwell Pendy and rookie Gavin Harrison have both been named finalists for major 2025–26 AJHL League Awards, highlighting the impact the Pontiacs duo has had during the regular season.
The AJHL, in partnership with RBC, announced the finalists this week. Winners will be selected through a final round of voting by league general managers and coaches and will be announced after the regular season concludes.
Pendy nominated for two major awards
Pontiacs forward Maxwell Pendy is a finalist for both the Most Valuable Player Award and the Top Forward Award, recognizing his standout offensive season in Bonnyville.
For the Most Valuable Player – Alberta Old Time Hockey Players Trophy, Pendy is up against:

Harrison a finalist for Rookie of the Year
Pontiacs rookie Gavin Harrison has been named a finalist for the AJHL Rookie of the Year – Dick White Trophy, presented by Canalta Hotels.
The Cold Lake product has been one of the league’s most dynamic first-year players and recently captured his second Adapt AJHL Rookie of the Month award this season.

Recognition beyond the AJHL
The winners of the AJHL awards will also be nominated for national recognition through the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL).
Last season, AJHL players claimed multiple national honours including CJHL Most Valuable Player and Top Goaltender (Zac Onyskiw) and CJHL Top Rookie (Easton Daneault).
