It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sam Metchewais of Cold Lake First Nations, Alberta announce his passing on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the age of 85 years.
Sam will always be lovingly remembered by his son: Conrad (Tricia) Metchewais; honourary son: Andrew Fox; grandchildren: Bo, Natasha, Keyana, Colton, Nikki, Alyssa, Landon and Samuel; as well as numerous great grandchildren.
Sam was predeceased by his parents: Alex and Theresa Metchewais; brothers: Jim Metchewais, Jobby Metchewais and Lawrence Metchewais; sisters: Agnes Desjarlais, Leona Metchewais, Rose Vosler, Edna St. Germaine, Ada McLain and Doreen Metchewais.
