Help Shape Public Transit in the St. Paul Region
If better public transit options were available in the St. Paul region, what would you use?
That’s the question local leaders want answered as work gets underway on a new Rural Public Transportation Study for the area.
In 2024, the St. Paul / Elk Point (STEP) Economic Development Alliance received funding through the Canada Rural Transit Fund to explore public transportation needs across the region. The study will look at challenges and opportunities in the County of St. Paul, the Towns of St. Paul and Elk Point, and the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay.
Why Your Input Matters
Rural transportation looks very different than transit in larger centres. This study aims to better understand how people currently travel, what barriers they face, and what kinds of services would actually be useful in a rural setting.
To support that work, a public survey has been launched. The survey asks about travel habits, needs, and concerns, and will help determine which transportation options could realistically work in the region.
Whether you commute for work, need access to medical appointments, rely on rides from others, or simply want more options, your feedback will directly inform the study’s recommendations.
Take the Survey
Residents across the region are encouraged to take part. The survey is quick to complete and open to anyone who lives, works, or travels in the St. Paul area.
