4 Wing Cold Lake to Conduct Night Flying Training
Residents may notice aircraft activity in the skies above Cold Lake over the coming weeks, as squadrons from 4 Wing Cold Lake conduct night flying training from October 27 to December 5, 2025.
The training will pause between November 5 and 17 and will not take place on weekends or statutory holidays. Flights will also not extend past 11 p.m.
4 Wing officials say night flying is a vital part of aircrew and ground crew preparedness. “The ability to conduct night missions is essential to our operational capability,” the base noted, adding that every effort is made to minimise disruptions for the Lakeland community while maintaining critical training standards.
