Yolande Pelchat Obituary

With saddened hearts, the family of Yolande Pelchat (Faucher) of St. Edouard, Alberta, regretfully announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister on October 22, 2025 at the age of 90 years.

Yolande Faucher was born in Barraute Quebec in 1935, the eldest of 11 children. She left her family in Quebec at the age of 24 and made her new life in St. Edouard, Alberta after getting married to Marc Pelchat in 1960.  They started on a very small farm, and with perseverance managed to improve and expand their farm focusing mainly on dairy farming. She was an active, full partner in the farming operation.  And let’s not forget the trees. She planted an incredible number of trees in many locations on the farms and at the lake.

A constant theme of her life was the raising and care of her children and the children of the next generations, playing an active role in their lives.  This was always integrated with the work demands of her own life.  She was a thoughtful person who ensured that everyone was taken care of, whether it was bringing food out to the field or making sure someone had a chair to sit in.

Yolande loved being surrounded by family and friends and even near the end continued to enjoy playing card games and attending large family gatherings. She will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Yolande.

Yolande will be forever remembered and loved by her children:

Jude Pelchat (Val and Xander), Danielle (Kerry) Hope, Réal Pelchat, Louis Pelchat, Berthe Pelchat, Fernand (Carol-Lynn) Pelchat, and Eric Pelchat.

Grandchildren: Jamal, Novalie (Ricky), Francine, Aaron Joe (Vanessa), Sharayah (Lee), Emily (Jeff), Jill (Bryce), Adam, Christian, Janelle, Chase, Jérémi, Brianna, Madison.

Great grandchildren: Shayden, Axtynn, Dexxen, Harlynn, Shawn, Eva, Ahliyah, Nedeyah, Trey, Calla, Miguel, June and Bell.

Siblings: Gabriel, Gerald, Ghislain, Mario, Jocelyne and Danielle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yolande was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Marc Pelchat; daughter: Helene; parents: Marcel Faucher and Therese Martel; siblings: Cecile, Florent, Lilliane and Florence.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to our sister Berthe, Mom’s primary care giver and to everyone who shared time with her.

Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, October 29 at 10:30 a.m.at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul, Alberta with Father André Semusambi as celebrant.

Final Resting Place, St. Edouard Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Edouard, Alberta.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Yolande, plant a tree if you wish, at your home or somewhere that is meaningful to you.
