Star Power and Million-Dollar Swing: Clayton Bellamy’s 3rd Annual Gala & Golf Hits Bonnyville This Weekend
The Clayton Bellamy Foundation for the Arts is rolling out the red carpet in Bonnyville this weekend for the 3rd Annual Gala & Golf, August 29–30. The fundraiser blends a glamorous evening of live entertainment with a high-stakes golf tournament — all to support the community’s new theatre, youth arts programming, and bursaries for students pursuing post-secondary education in the arts.
Friday Gala at the C2
The Gala takes place Friday night at the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre, where guests will be treated to a star-studded lineup. Canadian Country Music Hall of Famers Patricia Conroy and Duane Steele, Brad Mates of Grammy-nominated Emerson Drive, and El Nevin of Elvis & the Alibis will all perform.
“We pride ourselves on this being the one-of-a-kind, exclusive, best event in the Lakeland every year,” Bellamy said. “This isn’t just another night out — it’s about building something lasting in our community.”
Guests can expect aerialist bartenders pouring drinks from above, a gourmet meal with full table service, and a live auction featuring luxury experiences such as a Ferrari racetrack day in Calgary, a trip to Phoenix’s Hondo Fest, e-bikes, and a cruise with Edmonton Oilers alumni.
Single tickets are $130, which include dinner, entertainment, and table service. Full tables are also available.
Saturday Golf at the Bonnyville Golf & Country Club
The fundraising continues Saturday at the Bonnyville Golf & Country Club. Teams will hit the course alongside celebrity golfers, auctioned off during the Gala.
“If you’ve ever wanted to golf with Brad Mates or ask him what it’s like to be in a Grammy-nominated band, you can do that,” Bellamy said.
The tournament includes hole-in-one prizes from local dealerships and the return of the $1 million hole-in-one contest, sponsored by Northern Truck and NAPA. “It’s a doable hole,” Bellamy added. “Last year Theo Fleury was only feet away. Somebody could win this.”
Why It Matters
While the theatre is open, Bellamy says it’s far from paid for — and that’s why the Gala & Golf remains essential.
“Yes, the theatre doors are open, but we’ve still got work to do,” he explained. “We want rental rates to stay affordable for community groups and nonprofits, and we need to keep funding bursaries and programs for kids. This event is what makes that possible.”
Tickets and Registration
Tickets and golf registrations are available online at claytonbellamyfoundation.org/events, at Lakeland Connect, or in person at Tellier Pharmacy in downtown Bonnyville.
“We can’t say it enough,” Bellamy said. “When you buy a ticket or register a team, you’re not just coming to a great event — you’re making a real difference here in the Lakeland.”
