Conditions favourable for funnel clouds Thursday: Environment Canada
While there has been multiple days of severe thunderstorm watches, with limited actual rain in Bonnyville proper, now a Special Weather Statement has been issued on Thursday, talking about the potential for funnel clouds.
“Conditions will be favourable for the development of funnel clouds today. These types of funnel clouds are generated by rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. There is a possibility that these funnel clouds may reach the ground and generate a landspout tornado. If conditions become more favourable for the development of landspout tornadoes, watches and warnings will be issued by Environment Canada.”
