Police vehicle destroyer set to appear in court again Tuesday

The man who infamously destroyed multiple RCMP vehicles with a trackhoe is scheduled to appear in court in Bonnyville again on Tuesday.

This may lead to an election and plea from David Merko, as the last appearance in June moved matters to July 15.

The 62-year-old man faces several charges, including six counts of mischief over $5,000, break and enter, theft over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000, two charges of resisting/obstructing a peace officer, and one count of uttering threats, related to an April incident.

Merko allegedly phoned a Saskatchewan RCMP detachment and threatened to kill officers.
