Several charges laid on 4 people in Bonnyville armed robbery

Four people are facing charges after an armed robbery with a gun and bear spray at a Bonnyville residence.

The situation began at 7:00PM on May 1 on the 5000 block of 53rd Avenue.

During the robbery, the suspects also stole the victim’s vehicle.  

Soon after, Bonnyville RCMP and Cold Lake RCMP located, arrested, and charged three of the four suspects.  

Prior to their apprehension, one suspect made a false 911 call in an attempt to distract RCMP from locating one of the other suspects.  

The fourth suspect was finally arrested and charged on Thursday, July 10.

Charges

Carter Mundt, 24, of Ardmore is charged with two counts of Robbery using a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm with Intent, two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Drive While Impaired and three Counts of Possession of a Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order.  

He was remanded into custody and his next Court appearance is set for July 22nd.

Tavine Schliemann, 23, of Bonnyville is charged with two counts of Robbery using a Firearm and was released by a Justice of the Peace on Conditions, but later arrested and since remanded on other matters laid out below. 

He is set to appear on the Robbery charges on July 22nd.

Patrick Cardinal, 32, of Bonnyville is charged with two counts of Robbery using a Firearm. He was already in custody for other matters at the time of his arrest and remains in custody with a court date of July 22nd.

Kristi Fauth, 37, of Bonnyville is charged with two counts of Robbery using a Firearm and Public Mischief remanded into custody. Her court appearance is set for July 15th.

Additional charges

On Thursday, while members of the Bonnyville RCMP were arresting Fauth for the robbery, a search of her and a subsequent Search Warrant executed at her residence resulted in additional charges.  

Schliemann was at the residence at the time of the search warrant and accumulated additional charges of his own.  

Both Fauth and Schliemann are charged with Possession of a Cocaine, several weapons offences for having a baseball bat wrapped in barb wire, nunchucks, and prohibited weapons.  

Both remain remanded in custody.  

Fauth appears in court next on July 15th and Schliemann on July 22nd for these matters as well as the robbery matters.
