The Watoto Children’s Choir is a group from Uganda who performed their message of inspiration and hope in Jesus to Bonnyville residents at Lakeview Gospel Centre on Friday night.

Raising funds for their church that’s been around for 41 years, originally started by Canadians.

There are currently approximately 3500 children in the care of the Watoto Childcare Ministry, which can become safe shelter in rescuing children and placing them in decent homes.

Fiona, one of the choir leaders, was rescued, and was able to grow up and go through university. Now her and Alvin are part of Watoto Choir 118, the 118th choir to travel everyone across the globe.

From Australia, Norway, to Bonnyville, they spread their message of Better Days: There is hope with song and dance.

Their tours last six months at a time. After playing in Bonnyville, they headed up to Fort McMurray.
